• Controversial Changes to Cancer Payment Scales
  In an attempt to control costs, a new fee structure being tested by UnitedHealthCare would reward oncologists for using more standardized treatments over individualized programs, a move many critics find disturbing.
• Obama Administration Allows Insurers to Charge Higher Fees for Sick Children
  Although counter to the intended removal of preexisting condition exclusions, the Obama administration has agreed to allow insurers to charge higher fees for sick children where state law allows the practice in order to prevent the extinction of child-only policies.
• Judge Upholds Major Healthcare Reform Provision
  The provision of the health care reform legislation requiring all Americans to have health care insurance by 2014 was upheld by U.S. District Judge George Steeh in a ruling issued on October 8, 2010.
• Government Adds Search and Comparison Tool to Healthcare.gov
  The Obama administration is hoping to increase the transparency of its health care policies to the public with the addition of a "Find Insurance Options" search and comparison section to the healthcare.gov website.
